Believe it or not, this multiroom space was once covered in shamrock-print wall-to-wall carpet. For this year's Whole Home, designer Rasheeda Gray of Gray Space Interiors transformed the hallway, bedroom, and lounge into a Zen cocoon that lets guests’ imaginations take flight. “Butterflies are my spirit animal,” Gray says. “They symbolize renewal, growth, and evolution.” It’s no surprise, then, that the Aflutter wallcovering from Phillip Jeffries, depicting butterfly wings en masse, inspired her to design this entire space as the designated “anti-hustle” corner of the house.

Now, from the moment guests enter the hallway, the environment is whimsical and relaxing, restorative and peaceful, and aglow in pinks and ambers. At the end of the corridor, a celestial-blue lounge is designed for decompressing from the day and lingering. The adjacent bedroom is now an ethereal space with rich textures like cut velvet and silk bedding. Permission to dream, granted.

It is a feminine and whimsical space that encourages you to dream, to pause, to take a nap.

A new custom window seat keeps the radiator out of sight and is the best perch for taking in the outdoors. Gray also added unique metal shelves to make a basic bookcase anything but.

Violet and raspberry hues create a carefree mood in this corner room, while remote-controlled shades from Hunter Douglas encourage staying tucked in a little bit longer.
